First Grader in the House!

The all-important First Day of School outfit was laid out, the very first lunch made, the supplies bought and packed, the alarm clock set, the prayers for blessings on this school year said.  After a summer that seemed to pass in a heartbeat, here we are back to school already!

Delia, unfortunately, matched Ella's happiness with grumpiness this morning.  No one is going to miss Ella more.  These two sisters had a great summer playing together and the house is going to seem very quiet without Ella leading the play, setting things up and telling Delia what to do!

Ella's first day of first grade was, indeed, full of firsts:  First time meeting her new teacher, Mrs. D.J., first time getting to know about 14 of her classmates, first time staying the whole day, first time bringing a lunch, first time having 3 recesses, first time riding the bus home.  All these firsts added up to an "AWESOME!" day for Ella, though.  She came home with happy reports.  Now, onto the second day...let's hope Delia survives it! :)

Wow! Back to school already? I was just like Ella those first few years of school... And then come high school, my dad would have to bribe me to get me up. ;-)

Look at Ella's smile - you can tell that she is so excited! I'm sure the day was extremely long for Delia... and for you, too. I remember looking at the clock and thinking "its not 3 yet?!?" during those first days of school. The house just gets too quiet. :-(

Hope that Delia finds something special that she can do with you or even something neat that she'll have all for herself.

love you guys! Auntie Karen
