Kayaking and Waterfalls

Dave has done it before, but on this day a new adventure was tried by us girls-- kayaking!  We rented a couple double kayaks, each taking a daughter (I got Ella), and spent a morning paddling around the beautiful Lake Mary.

  

Mom and Dad brought their books and enjoyed some reading in the sunshine on the pier.  Mom also took some family pictures for us.

The girls did so great at helping out with the oars.  They liked taking breaks and hanging their legs into the cool water.  This was so enjoyable, I'm already planning more ways to get us in kayaks before the summer is over.

Next we took a scenic drive and stopped a couple times at various lookout points of Twin Lakes.  There is one gorgeous waterfall that can be seen up close and far away here.  These views were great because they required no hiking!  Pretty much just get out of the car have your jaw drop.

  

At one lookout, the girls found a friendly butterfly who was happy to land and stay on their finger.
