Graduation Prayer

The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. -Psalm 121:8

Open wide my heart,

Though it heaves and aches.

Open too these eyes that blur,

To see this day you've set, 

Apart from others, each alike,

In their coming,

In their going,

Each one kept by you.

This one only...is for going.

Not to come again.

So I squint and strain,

Only you do not.

You watch and keep.

Then, now, and always.

Amen.
