Busy Morning

This morning Delia and I spent almost 4 hours at AnnaJean's house helping with her annual peach canning.  The 50 jars we did today pale in comparison to the 200 jars I've done with her in the past, but the slice in my hand and the cramp in my back tells me we still worked hard.  Together we halved, pitted, peeled, sliced, jarred and sealed 3 lugs of peaches.  Now we can stock our pantries and look forward to this treat in the winter when our fresh fruit is not as abundant!

You are making me anxious for fall to arrive... Every year we take a trip to the mountains in Virginia and purchase more apples than we can shake a stick at; when we get home Melissa then gets together with some friends and they spend a couple of days making apple sauce, apple butter, apple pie filling, apple bread, apple muffins.. Pretty much anything you can make with apples... Cans and cans and cans so we have them for the winter! Sounds like you guys are starting off the beginning of fall on the right foot :)
