Scenes from the Road

Joshua trees, mirrored solar plants, buffalo farms, a hundred signs for Peggy Sue's Diner, rainbow rocks, desert nothingness becoming red cliffs, tumbleweeds, rock stores, confusing time changes as we zigzagged over the state borders all week, and every license plate but Delaware!  Our 30 hours in the car together were spent conversing, singing, sleeping, snacking, getting freeway driving lessons, and admiring the changing scenery.  And we never got sick of each other! ;)

At our first stop for lunch at the California border we learned that the 8 things the Welcome Center told us we had to visit in California, we have!

Backseat snack distributors.

We laughed about how many cracks we drove and hiked through this week!  Here was our first crack in Arizona.

Dave was our happy chauffeur!

One of my favorite pictures!  Haha!  Vegas sign sighting!

This one cracked us up too.  For people stuck in their road trip alphabet games???

I have a license plate game app that was SO fun this week!  We found 49, the best we've ever done on a road trip!  In Bryce Canyon we parked next to a New Hampshire family.  That state was one of our last, so we made friends with them, thanking them.  They were playing too and only had Hawaii left to find!  Though Delaware was the only state that eluded us, North Dakota was a stinker till the end too.  Do people in these states not get out? ;)

Before the trip, Delia got me on Spotify so we could all collaborate on an epic 8 hour playlist.  Beloved tunes became a source of great enjoyment during all the hours together.

What was that?  10 posts on this trip?  So much incredible scenery seen!  So much safety and ease of travel not taken for granted the whole week!  So much awesome quality time shared! So many good memories made!
