Another Full and Fabulous Easter!

A basket full of goodies.  A church service full of powerful praise and worship.  A field full of cows.  A lawn full of chocolate-stuffed eggs.  A sky full of kites.  A table full of ham buns and salads.  A day full of family and friends.  These are the traditions we've come to love and look forward to each Easter.  Since this day is so full of so many wonderful things, it's no wonder we all bolt out of bed in a great mood, like it's Christmas morning!

Hits from the Easter baskets this year were clothes for the stuffed animals, little Lego sets, a fairy craft and book and our very own copy of The Muppets to watch over and over!

Between church and the party at our friends' house, we always have time to make our own Easter dinner.  Whenever she detects the aroma of a delectable piece of meat coming out of the oven, Lily becomes the carver's best friend.

Except for the weather and the size of the kids, nothing really changes at the Easter gathering we're blessed to a be a part of.  Here's the epic egg hunt we've done every year.  Tons of eggs (our hostess estimated about 300!) are hidden and scattered by the adults, then the kids tear around for half an hour grabbing as many as they can find.

Sorting the loot, comparing with your buddies, counting your coins and sampling your candy are the best parts of the egg hunt!

There's always plenty of time to hang out with friends.  The kids play so nice while the adults enjoy a good, long visit.

As in previous years, each kid was given a kite after the egg hunt.  With a lot less wind this year, getting the kites in the air was its own hilarious challenge, in fact only 7 of the 20 actually went up.  While Dave and I didn't seem to have the magic touch this year, my sweet friend Char worked long and hard with Ella to get her kite soaring.  After trying so persistently, Ella was thrilled to have that taut kite string finally tugging in her fingers.  I think it was a highlight of her Easter!

After such a full day, we definitely leave with some pretty worn out kids.  But a good night's sleep will hopefully rev them up for the next fun thing on this year's Spring Break List.  Can't wait to tell you about it in a few days!
